Planning Modalities
Initial product design
The planning activities start with the request for new products from clients, and they are usually preceded by an initial basic phase of design. During this stage, the R&D Lab defines the possibility to develop new products, inspirited by the market trends or from client’s ideas, or reformulating existing products, always keeping in mind normative regulations and the final consumer.
Project planning
The Product Profile is used as input for the project planning.
The project is designed on a “Project Plan”, where are indicated the different development stages, and their timing.
Planning
- Client request / Basic design
- Project opening
- Drafting the Project Plan
- Maximized test on the product
- Bibliography research
- Formulation development
– Sample production
– Definition of tests on sample
– Test on product sample and their compliance with:
• Technical parameters
• Utility parameters
• Stability
- Formula cost settlement
- Industrial test realization
- Product cost settlement
- Collect and/or select the technical sheets to clients
- Packaging design
Planning Results (OUTPUTS)
The planning results are expressed through a series of documents
Normally all or part of these documents may constitute the results of planning:
The Product Specific which describes the overall and physical/chemical characteristics of the product.
• Quali-quantitative formula
• Production method & packaging method
• Final product’s bill of material
• In-admitting control plan for materials and raw materials
• Semi-manufactured control plan
• Final product controls plan
• Packaging materials design and specifications (possibly transmitted by suppliers)
• Packaging materials design and specifications (possibly transmitted by suppliers)
• Raw materials technical data sheet and safety data sheet
Planning Validation
The project is subjected to validation, with the scope of providing the real product correspondence with the manufacturing and usability requirements.
